When I'm hitting step up triples in 5th gear pinned, and my front end is too high, I use the rear brake to bring the front end down.
![]() Stopping the rear wheel allow the momentum to move the rear of the bike up. A panic rev will bring the front end up. BTW, it's not fake. 2 guys (including the one in the video) are listed as doing that trick for the X Games. |

It's all about the gyroscopic effect in spinning wheels. Also why sitting still on a bike is very difficult to stay upright, but when the wheels are rolling it's much easier. Also explains how it's impossible to turn a bike left or right without turning in the opposite direction first. Next time you ride a bike, if you want to turn right, push forward on the right handlebar and while you'd think the bike would want to turn left, it'll actually turn right. Cool shit Maynard...
