Aren't they the same size and weight? You can get a small wheel TTR 125. I got Kacie (My 11 year old girl) a TTR 125 and she handles it fine and she is like me vertically challenged.

SoCal, He handled the (small wheel) DRZ just fine, in fact tore it up, but he can't reach the ground or get very stable with the weight of the TTRLE......maybe suffering from short leg syndrome?

IDK, Kacie cant touch the ground with both feet (well maybe toes) but is fine when riding. Get him the slightly bigger one it will last longer. What about the CRF 100?

A slightly bigger bike definitely gives them room to grow.

When I was around 9 or 10, I rode around on a CR-250.

And if you've ever seen me ride, you know that I can't ride for shit, on two wheels or 4:p

I am all for room to grow (I don't want to have to go through selling/buying every year), I just want to put him on something he doesn't have to fight....OK, I'll go have him fire off the TTR, and see if he can keep it upright... (of course after hanging with you guys, he is going 'another four-stroke?' NOOOO!
Rob, you haul ass, what are you talking about dude?

Yes let him try the TTR I put 13 yr. old Bradley on the drz it fit him, And next season on the 230 now he is ready to jump again and who the hell is going to buy that bike? I was not here on the boards to get the great info or i would have never done any of that!! A bike a year yup wish i could do it all over again because now his bike holds him back and there isn't anything i can do until i can sell it yeah good luck with that
Be more educated about it than we were.

My wife sat on a TTR125 and it fit her perfect. She's only 5'4" tall and her feet touched the ground. Plus she said it was lighter than the Honda. Also, it had the big wheels.
