Default Dec 4 Toys for Tots 200

A little late to post...sorry.

But, we're racing the MORE Toys for Tots 200 in Barstow. Race starts Dec 4 at 0800. Start/Finish is at Slash X. Should be a pretty interesting race since they have 2 different loops.

We'll be getting out there Friday afternoon and the weather looks like it'll be perfect if anyone wants to come out for the weekend or just the day.

I was thinking about going out for a night anyways just for something to do, but didn't want the kids (9 and 11) to be bored since they don't have any toys to ride yet. Maybe if work goes smooth and I can get done at a decent time, I'll load up and go out tomorrow afternoon.

I'm sure the support would be welcomed. I'm out for this one, home sick

Well, first off I'd like to thank Todd, Aaron and Marcus for helping out at the race. It didn't last too long, but all hands were on deck for the tow back to the pits.

We got off to a good start, holding a decent time against others in class and even passing a few folks here and there. We also managed to get some pretty decent air at one point. Around MM8 on the 2nd lap, we broke the a-arm and bent the front right shock. Race over for us. It took 6 ratchet straps and 2 hours to get the buggy back to the pits, having to tow it backwards to keep the front spindle in position. After we got back, Aaron welded the a-arm back to gether and we restrapped the front to get it back in the trailer.

Thanks for everyones hard work for the final race of the season. Official results aren't in, but we think Wendy finished second place in Class 3000 for the season.

Thanks for toughing it out in the cold desert with us. I see Eric summed up the race already but I would personally like to thank everyone for the support they gave us. Nice to meet you Marcus. I learned allot from the little I was able to keep the car together. My goal for next time will be to hand it over to the next driver.

Mike is the owner of the buggy we raced for Dec. He's pitted with us a few times this year. After selling our buggy, he offered to let us run his for the last race of the season. Very nice of him. The Durkee Racing team will be supporting his race efforts through the 2011 race season. Anyone interested in participating, please let one of us know.

Here he is...proud owner of a prototype 90 degree shock.

My dad is a TV repair man, he has an awesome set of tools. I think we can fix that

I know it still has a few bugs but I feel the design is sound.
