Leave the cap on the old tank, and U better keep that vent hose away from excess heat and potential spark locations. COMPRENDE?? NO FUEGO!! POR FAVOR!!

I would drain the tank, put in some very pure isopropyl alcohol, swish it around, drain it as dry as possible, bag the tank, and use some dessicant.

Okie dokie will do....
I am also just going to remove the charcoal canister and the hoses. Guys on ThumperTalk gave me directions (in like one paragraph with pictures!) very easy to do. They said leaving the hose the way I have it creates a small vacuum leak.

Kevlar: I think a little more finesse and he would've been fine. He was slamming it pretty hard. The width wasnt really a problem at all.

which hose is it? typically hoses won't create a small vacuum leak, they either create a vacuum leak or they don't, unless there is a orifice inline. Posting pictures would make all this much easier.

For the tank, I'd put it in a bag and throw it on a shelf.
