Here's the first buildup article of the RZR 4: http://forum.toyhaulnhooligans.com/s...ead.php?t=4160

I never heard back from Factory UTV on doing the skid plate comparison...

No need for comparison, if you want almost triple the cost, twice the weight, 10 times the drag, dents and rattles, then aluminum is the way to go for sure!

I'm still going to try to do some testing...might just do some testing with some sample materials...not sure yet.

You asked.... Even a cursory glance at the RZR forums will show you an overwhelming preference for UHMW skids over aluminum with anybody who's used them. They are lighter, slicker, tougher and in this example 1/3 of the cost, it's a no brainer. I wish we could give a free skidplate to every tom dick and harry who asks for one almost daily, but to do that and stay in business is frankly impossible. Mind you this is strictly my personal opinion, being stated on what I consider a site amongst friends. I've been a student of this game for a long long time and frankly don't like the way you present your magazine, it kind of reminds me of a recurring in your face shamwow infomercial. You plaster your stories all over every UTV forum known to man and it strikes me as cheesy and desperate. I'm sure I could be totally off base in my view and you know what they say about opinions, but we strive to be taken more seriously. Take SuperATV for instance and there +6 LT kit, that "you can run your stock RZR shocks" with. Stock RZR shocks suck with the stock length a-arms, how the hell are they going to work with +6 arms? We like to think we have more integrity than that and want our customer base to feel the same way. So we are particular about who we do business with. I wish you all the luck with your magazine, maybe in the future if we see it go in a direction we like we'll work with you. Right now we have an excellent working relationship with Jon at UTV Weekly and Don at UTV Off Road and have worked with a few other magazines as well. Where can one buy your Mag?

Bob, no worries at all, and thanks for sharing your opinions. I'll send you a pm with more information personally, mainly because it doesn't really pertain to this thread. But, seriously, it's good to hear everyone's opinions. Taking them to heart and making changes is how we all become better at what we do and ultimately provide what everyone wants to read, although "everyone" is never a possibility.
