Default Ecotec water pump leak

It appears that coolant is leaking from the waterpump housing. It looks like there's a weep hole cast in the housingn and water is draining from there. Even when the car is just sitting in the garage with the engine cool.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

yep, usually when wp's go out they like to leak the most then sitting w/out pressure on them. I talked a little with S@ndy about it. Not that bad to do. I made the special tool needed for it but it still required removing the timing cover to reset the timing chain tensioner. That was something that was not told when looking through the instructions to replace the water pump. Its not hard to do, just a little time consuming and kinda know what to do and what your looking at.

then it won't leak to the ground, it'll leak into the engine (oil side).

Well, Duane and I got some work done yesterday. Pretty much have everything off of the car in order to access the water pump. Jeff has shipped the tool, so we should be able to finish it up on Wed.

A huge thanks to Jeff for the holding tool. It worked great. New water pump is on.

Now I need a new drain plug for the radiator, the old one is leaking. Anyhow, should have it running tomorrow.
