I am headed to OC Saturday (Tustin)...what are some bike shops in the area where I could possibly get whatever parts I may need for my carb?
I haven't taken it apart yet but if I need to take it apart may as will put in some new stuff.

This is just an assumption, but I figured the drz 400 runs the same carb as the Ltz 400 and I usually have to replace the seat o ring for over flowing issues. Problem is the only way to get an oem o ring is to buy a new seat for 30 to 40 bucks. I bought a harbor freight o ring kit for 7 bucks that has numerous sizes with about 10 that fit. Never had a needle go bad on these carbs, just the seat o ring.

I have 1000's of o-rings at work. If it is just an o-ring I will have one. My shop is in Irvine about half way between Tustin and Mission Mototsports

The DRZ and the LTZ are the same exact engines. Don't know what the seat o ring is, I will look it up. The bike starts and doesn't sound bad, just has gas trickling out of vent hose when it is running.
I am going to go with your idea, harbor freight o rings and I will also go to Mission Motorsports and get a fuel filter, consensus is (on Thumpertalk) that a filter really helps and is easy to install.
Thanks Duane!

Looked it up, diagram only says "o ring" so need to know which one is the "seat o ring"
Once I pull the carb and open it, will I be able to tell which o ring is bad (if that is what it is)?

engine is the same (mostly) but the carbs are the same, after looking the OEM parts guide, LTZ has a plate style throttle, DRZ has the silde type carb.

But, going to RMATV website I would think that part #36 is what I'm recommending, the seat o-ring..

link doesn't work for me, just shows OEM parts finder page, prpbably works for you since its saved in your cookies. I search 04 DRZ 400, I meant to say the engines are the same but the carbs are different.
