17HMR is more than capable out to 200yds, and I've watched a few Outdoor channel coyote hunts, and the 17 will bring a coyote down at 100 yds, or less. But the biggest reason, $$$$ per round. Bought a 10 pack of 50 round boxes @ $9.95 per box of 50, no tax, and 0$ for shipping. Almost as cheap to shoot as a 22 cal.

The 22-250 is still on my list of "would like to have" rifles, or 223, or 204 Ruger. Several are serious contenders. First, I am thinking of selling my Colt Python, to fund a couple of other firearm purchases.

I have always thought my next rifle would be a 22-250, thats why i was wondering. 17 sure got popular over the last 10 years. Very nice. Here is a cool california Varmint hunters Forum.

Hey Dogg, a question fer ya. Should we not be able to do any target shooting, and should mother nature decide to rain on us for multiple days, would it be OK with you if I borrowed yer Great White Shark fishing pole? It'd be a shame to miss that opportunity, huh?
