Default Factory UTV RZR Air Intake Solution

The 08 RZR's come with a serious joke of an intake system. We set out to improve upon that and here are the results...

We started with an airbox designed specifically for heavy dust conditions, then we brought the entire assembly up and out of the dust. As pictured this setup includes 4 filter mechanism's. First a K&N type filter on the filter housing inlet (this is optional as some may snorkel from here) then contained inside the housing are a dirt separator and both inner and outer filters. We will be using different tubing than pictured, we'll go with a 3" silicone smooth sided tube and 2 - 90 degree bends. The entire stock airbox gets tossed and the tubing connects directly to the boot with a male/male splice. We are planning on fabbing and selling a nice toolbox to fit in the space of the old airfilter housing. We've tested in major dust conditions and up to 8000 feet and the setup works awesome! A 3 inch hole will be required in the front corner of your bed which will turn some off. We were willing to give up that 3 inches of bed space for peace of mind regarding dirt in the engine.

Cummins owns Fleetguard, but who knows, same people may make housings for Fleetguard and Donaldson. Someone else said the same thing about it being a Donaldson. Tell you what though, it worked flawlessly! Rode in a lot of dust for a day and the two inner filter and cannister were spotless.

Did you Have to Re-jet? for this configuration? and will it support Aftermarket Exhaust and other Performance upgrades?

The RZR's are EFI. A PC would take care of any issues with mods.

Jets? I have a fuel controller JT, come on this is 2008!!!!!

Seriously though, we ran it up to 8000 feet and it ran great without touching the controller. Filter was designed for a 3000cc generator, so supplying enough air for our stuff is not an issue... As far as I know the RZR is the ONLY off road vehicle that places the intake filtering setup directly in the path of the most possible dust? Where we have it now it's far less dust and far less heat, got to be better. I was shocked to see the filters spotless, but since it's drawing air through the K&N first makes sense. K&N was plenty dirty..
